La Golbreeb

This is La Golbreeb, a beer blog. The name is BeerBlog spelled backwards, because it sounded ok to me, I'm not very creative, and it wasn't already taken.

The purpose is most generally any blogging about beer, but just specifically a few things to the purpose, and a couple not to the purpose:

• Blogging about beer that I make. Currently, I'm doing my first solo homebrew, and I'll document ingredients, methods, descriptions and results. Comparisons, alcohol content, whatever.
• Beer reviews. I'm not a qualified professional or anything of that sort, so this is opinions and tasting notes from an amateur who is familiar with beer. I'm a beer enthusiast, and I feel I know what to look for, but I think part of what makes me qualified is I'm giving a good amateur opinion and still an amateur opinion. So it's not over anyone's head or anything.
• Places to get beer. That means bars, liquor stores, breweries, etc. I plan to do a lot of local stuff: I am in Chicago. I'll tag these with "Local". This also means some of my beer reviews will be local, which is something different than all the other beer review blogs and sites out there. I'll review bars and such too.
• Not to the purpose, cocktails and the like. I'm also an amateur mixer of these, and am generally impressed by the bars that can make a good cocktail.
• Other things might happen, as they come up. I plan to have friends submit entries as well, especially if they brew or have their own insights.

That about sums up the intended purpose.
